Adirondack Dreams
I played mandolin on this track on Ashley Sofia’s album SHADES OF BLUE. This album is INCREDIBLE and very much worth your listen if you have an appreciation for GREAT song writing/singing/chord changes on awesome acoustic guitar based tunes (Ashley is a very good guitarist and plays all the rhythm guitar parts on this album).
I was playing my Breedlove Quartz Custom mandolin on this track. Trivia note - at 0:45 in the song, I’d worked up some fancy mandolin fill, but when we listened back to it, it just seemed too busy. So instead I played the opening guitar riff from John Denver’s COUNTRY ROADS on my mando for that fill. It was a tip of the hat to John Denver, and it seemed appropriate as ADIRONDACK DREAMS and COUNTRY ROADS were written in the same spirit.
