I've been playing with Tim Rushlow's Big Band since 2014. I played on Tim's first big band album and it was one of the most challenging things I've ever done in the studio. The chords changes were complex and some of the tempos were FAST. Again, knowing the fretboard well got me thru that session.
We recorded 9 songs in one night - and I didn't want to be the week link in the chain. Some of Nashville's best musicians were playing on this project and I didn't want to do a belly flop off the high diving board in front of everyone else at the pool. Thru God's grace I found my thru the tunes and was then asked to perform with the band in subsequent live performances.
This video was captured on live TV at the 2016 Presidential Inauguration where we played in front of 33,000 people and were on live international TV. Playing at this event was controversial because of the tension in the United States over this election. I wrote an article on LinkedIn explaining why I played this event. It may not be what you think. You can read the article HERE.
