FOLSOM PRISON BLUES
with Thomas Gabriel
This is from a gig I played at B.B. King's in Nashville. When I showed up to the venue I had no clue who else was in the band, what singers we'd be backing up, and what songs we'd be doing. Several singers took the stage that night. This is Thomas Gabriel, who happens to be the grandson of Johnny Cash, and who sounds amazing similar to his grandfather.
I hadn't played Folsom Prison since I was a teenage, but fortunately it's a hard tune to forget.
Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Johnny Neel is on keys, and the amazing Tim Gonzalez is on harp.
